Food - Pantries

First Lutheran Church

542 South 31st Street - 345-7506:  Provides food to anyone in need. Pantry open from 1:00PM-2:30PM Monday through Friday.

First Presbyterian Church of Omaha - "Hand Up" Pantry

216 South 34th Street - (402) 345-5383: The “Hand Up” Pantry is a  mission program of First Presbyterian Church staffed by volunteers.  Those in need come to the church for bags of food on Thursdays from 3:30PM to 5:30PM.

Food Bank for the Heartland (Omaha Food Bank)

10525 J Street - 331-1213:  Provides food resources to a network of nonprofit agencies which then distribute the food to individuals and families in need. With the exception of a few programs, Food Bank for the Heartland does not distribute food directly to the public. The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) provides healthy meals to children age 18 and younger during the summer months. SFSP operates in Nebraska, Council Bluffs, and Carter Lake. Fresh produce stands are also available during the summer. Food distribution sites are listed on the Food Bank for the Heartland website.

Heart Ministry Center

2222 Binney Street - 451-2321:  Food pantry available Wednesday and Friday from 10:00AM-12:00PM. Photo ID, social security cards for each household member, and a recent piece of mail required for USDA commodities. Non-USDA commodities available for those without proper documentation. Individuals may receive pantry services once every 30 days.

Heartland Family Service-Tri-City Ministerial Association Pantry

339-2544:  Food pantry available to current Heartland Family Service clients who are residents of Papillion, LaVista, and Ralston.

Heartland Hope Mission (formerly Mission for All Nations)

5210 South 21st Street - 733-2077:  Provides a 7 day supply of food, including food appropriate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, personal hygiene items, clothing, household items, and toys to low-income families. Families may choose their own canned and boxed goods. Frozen meat, produce, and dairy items are packed by volunteers. Families may visit the pantry once every 30 days. Senior citizens (age 60 and older) and individuals with disabilities (proof required) may visit every 21 days. The pantry is open Thursday and Saturday from 1:30PM-4:00PM and Tuesday from 6:30PM-7:30PM. Requires photo ID and valid proof of other household members, proof of address, and monthly income amount.

Holy Family Catholic Church - Door Ministry

1715 Izard Street - 341-6561:  Food pantry available Monday through Thursday from 9:00AM - 12:00PM. Free lunch program also available Sunday through Friday. Sandwiches and packed lunches are given out Sundays beginning at 11:15AM and Monday through Thursday beginning at 9:00AM.  Call for information.

Kountze Memorial Church

2650 Farnam Street - 341-7761:  Food pantry open Mondays from 10:00AM-1:00PM. If Monday is a national holiday or if OPS cancels classes due to weather, the pantry will be open the following Friday.

Living Hope United Methodist Church - Pearl Food Pantry

2319 Ogden Street - (402) 453-8623: Call for information.

Open Door Mission - Timberlake Outreach Center - King's Closet

2107 East Locust - (402) 829-1510: Timberlake Outreach Center - King's Closet - visit once every 30 days free clothing, toys, shoes, household, diapers & food pantries Walk-in Monday thru Saturday 10am – 5pm.

Our Savior's Lutheran Church-Council Bluffs

600 Bluff Street - (712) 322-6655: Food pantry available by appointment on Thursdays from 11:00AM to 3:00PM.  Pet food pantry also available.

Project Hope Food Pantry

4205 Boyd Street - 453-7649:  Food, some clothing, and personal care items. Requires a photo ID, social security cards for each household member, and a piece of mail with a current address. Individuals may receive food once every 30 days up to 6 times per year.

Salem Baptist Church

Southside Pantry-Council Bluffs

1919 South 10th Street - (712) 322-8122: Food pantry available by appointment, Wednesday and Friday 9:00AM to 11:00AM.

St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church

16701 S Street - (402) 896-9675: Provides food, household items, and personal care items to families in need of assistance.  Serves families within the parish boundaries and within the greater Omaha community.  Call for information.

The Salvation Army - Council Bluffs

715 North 16th Street, Council Bluffs - (712) 328-2088: Food pantry available Monday/Wednesday from 1:00PM to 3:30PM and Tuesday/Thursday from 9:00AM to 11:00AM.

The Salvation Army - Material Assistance & Seasonal Services (MASS)

3612 Cuming Street and 2825 Y Street - (402) 898-5860: The Material Assistance & Seasonal Services (MASS) program provides food, clothing, household items, prescription medications, emergency financial assistance, referral services, and more.  Photo identification, social security cards or birth certificates for all household members, and proof of residence are required.  Proof of income may be required for some programs.  The food pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00AM to 11:00 AM and 1:00PM to 3:30PM at 3612 Cuming Street.  The food pantry at 2825 Y Street (Kroc Center) is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00AM to 11:00AM and 1:00PM to 3:30PM.  Assistance may be received once every 30 days.


The Society of St. Vincent de Paul

2101 Leavenworth Street:  Pantry hours of operation are Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Individuals and families who visit the pantry may do so once every 60 days, or once every 30 days if they are disabled or over 60 years of age. Please bring a photo ID, a piece of mail from your current address no older than 30 days, and social security numbers for all household members participating in the Pantry. * If schools are closed due to snow, the Pantry WILL NOT BE OPEN.

812 South 24th Street- (402) 345-8047: Food pantry provides food to individuals and families in need.  Individuals and families may access the food pantry once every 30 days.  Social security card, photo identification, and a recent piece of mail are required.

Westside Church Food Pantry

15050 West Dodge Road - (402) 496-7833: Food pantry available for individuals and families within the church and the greater Omaha community.  Boxes include non-perishable food items and must be requested by calling for an appointment.  Boxes can be provided to each individual or family once every 3 months.
